On Friday, 12 March 2010, a group from Sensation science centre in Dundee came to Blairgowrie. They hosted a presentation called "Meet the Gene Machine" in which RMPS pupils from the senior school – S4 to S6 – participated.
The early part of the presentation was more concerned with the scientific aspects of gene research.
The discussion groups which followed saw the pupils actively engaged in lively debate about the underlying moral issues which surround this controversial area of research.
